You can hire a private self-drive car or a taxi. There are private and public buses available round the clock from Delhi, Chandigarh and Jammu. Delhi is 810 km away from Srinagar and takes about 17-18 hours to reach while Chandigarh is 585 km from Srinagar and may take about 12-13 hours to reach. Jammu is 265 km away from Srinagar and may take 6-8 hours.
Jammu Tawi Railway station, at 330km away from Srinagar, is the nearest railhead. There are direct trains such as New Delhi-Jammu Tawi Express, Jammu Mail and Jammu Tawi Express operating from Delhi.
Important: Nathu La is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, it needs a Protected Area Permit from the Sikkim State and Covid-19 Negative RT PCR report or a vaccination certification.
